Despite advances in education in Science Technology Engineering and Maths over the past few years, the proportion of females taking STEM subjects at third level is still a problem.
Is it lack of interest? Lack of teaching resources? or getting over the old idea that some subjects are just for boys and others for girls.
Lorna Martyn is Head of Technology with Fidelity Investments and she spoke to Niall about how important role models are, in getting more girls involved in STEM and even bringing back women who have left the field.
